Jonathan Smith is a multi GRAMMY® and GMA Dove Award® winning songwriter and producer. Born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jonathan moved to Nashville in 2006 to attend Belmont University. While studying at Belmont, Jonathan struck up a friendship with fellow songwriter, Jason Ingram, which served as the catalyst for his first publishing deal with Essential Music Publishing in 2012.  Shortly after, Jonathan became an integral part of signing fellow Jonesboro-native Zach Williams to a record deal at Provident Label Group, ushering in 2017’s massively impactful RIAA Platinum® single “Chain Breaker,” co-written by the two along with Mia Fieldes. Jonathan proceeded to garner more songwriting success via a remarkable series of culture-shaping radio singles including Tauren Wells’ “Hills & Valleys,” Matthew West’s “The God Who Stays” and the Top 5 CCLI song “House of the Lord” recorded by Phil Wickham and “Glorious Day” recorded by Passion. In 2022 Jonathan was awarded the BMI Christian Song of the Year for “There Was Jesus” recorded by Zach Williams and Dolly Parton.

Jonathan lives in Franklin, TN with his wife Anna and their children Lindley, Holland and Barrett. They enjoy relaxing, fishing and hunting on their family farm in Arkansas.
